welcome to the volunteer forum.
Your Canon is a flash drive camera, so it will be "seen" as a drive letter in your computer.
Capture is for tape cameras, and a few other formats, but NOT flash.
Using Windows, not PD, attach the camera via usb as the Canon instructions detail.
Hit the transfer button on your camera. I think that will start the process, I don't have my HF21 anymore.
Browse to the drive (it might even say CANON).
Find the STREAM folder for video files, or for photos it would be DCIM.
Copy or cut and paste from the camera flash drive, to your desired drive on your computer.
Or...
if you have the files on the camera's SD card, simply pop that into a card reader and look for those same folders.
