I'm in the UK and i shoot video in 1080 50p mode, but i'm thinking of buying a Smartphone, but have so far only found phone that shoot video in 30 or 60p modes (NTSC mode) even UK models only shoot in 30/60p,

Anyone know why there are no PAL 50p phones made?

If i bought a 30/60p frame rate phone, could i smoothly mix it with my 50p footage in PD12 ?

Simple answer:
Yes, you can mix them.

When you Produce the final output video they will all be rendered to the same frame rate.

Hi

As Carl has stated you can mix them.

However, you will be dropping between 5 to 10 frames per second and you will notice 'stuttering' on play back.

My tip is to avoid 'stuttering' is to avoid tilt or panning when using your phone camera as this movement will exaggerate the loss of frames. The videoing of land/streetscapes holding the camera phone still works pretty well and the loss of frames in negligible.

Happy editing

I asked a similar question not long ago. If the final output is stuttery why not produce the smartpone files to 50P first then edit in PD? Then everything would match.
