I'm looking to add a very fine 35mm type of film grain to my video on PD12, is this possible?

Try "Fine Noise" in the Effect Room and adjust the noise level low.

If you want an old B&W scratchy film, try "Old Movie" in effects. You can adjust many parameters.

Maybe !

Go to the fix/enhance room. See if you have the last option as Color Director and have the Color Effect. One of those is "Grainy Film".

I said maybe because I'm not sure I have it because I have Color Director or if it is native to PowerDirector.

The fine noise fx look more or less what i'm looking for, but how do you go about adjusting it's attributes, to make it less invasive and maybe even smaller noise particles?

Select the effect, Click Modify on top of the timeline.
