front end loading errors

I am still using PD10 and with some video get a lot of "front end loading errors", especially when I render as Video 9 DVD Quality 1600..

I do not get any of these errors if I use AVS video editor. If I upgrade to PD12 what are the odds it will work correctly? Or have they just added new features and it will still catch the front end loading errors?

Thanks

Front end loading error may have to do with no proper CODEC installed.
Can you play that file/video in Windows Media Player?

Windows 8/8.1 does not have a built in DVD player.

Sorry for butting in here. I am not familiar with the term "front end loading" when it comes to video editing. Could you please explain what you mean (for me). .

I assumed the OP was referring to a error message produced by Powerdirector.

In searching Google I don't see any reference to the term for Video, I do see many references to the construction machine.

I thought I had seen that message one time in PD 8 many years ago, to the best of my memory, it is displayed in the Create Disk Module when PD could not find the file or Video or maybe when PD8 could not read the file.

I guess I am just plain wrong.

Sorry Steve. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

The error occurs part way through the movie. Sometimes the error is evident when editing as one get the message "Media Source Error - A front end graph streaming error occurred"

If one cuts out a few frames at the exact spot one can render past this spot, but will likely encounter another, and another as the movie progresses. Too much work to figure out exactly where error is and cut it out.

As I mentioned AVS editor works fine as does Windows Media Editor.

Hi curt y,
Your issue is with PDR10,right? Members here can test your clip in PDR12 if you make a video sample available (one that triggers the error for you), video: 5 or 10 seconds long.
Your PDR10 issue could be to do with any of the following.
1. Codecs - to read the video file.
2. Graphic Card drivers (need updating).
3. Corrupt video file.
4. During PDR10 installation QuickTime was not installed.
5. As stated, media player is required to open microsoft formats.

Please post on the PDR10 forum for further input on your PDR10 issue.

Dafydd
