So yiou are trying to import the video from your GoPro directly using PowerDirector? You should be able to COPY the video to your computer using Windows and then add them to a new project.

If that is not what you are doing, please clarify.

Make sure that you have the latest version of Quicktime on your computer (for the codecs).

Also try using a third party video converter - something like the free "Any Video Converter" which whill do batch conversion fro the mov you have to mpg2 HD.

If that works, let us know and perhaps we can find something else that will shorten the process. .

First, you may want to reread your GoPro instruction manual. I don't have one of those but I do have some action camcorders -0 I have tried 3 different ones and do not have a problem with any of them. You cell phone is probably not high definition !

Please post your computer dxdiag.exe information so we can tell if your computer will handle the high definition files from the GoPro.
See part B here: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/7958.page It will also tell us about your video card/chio and the drivers you have installed.

Also what level (Ultimate, Ultra, Deluxe) of Power Director and what build do you have. Build is related to the updates that you may or may not have installed.

Also which GoPro do you have?

The latest build is 2726. You are only one behind.

Please post a link to the GoPro 1 manual; I can't find one on the GoPro site. Have you updated the drivers/software for it? What resolution/frame rate, etc are you recording?

Clear up some space on your system drive where the temp files are created and stored.

Make sure your computer is set to be at full power all the time; power saving mode is not very good.

As we ask from others, Please record a few seconds of video of nothing in particular and upload that so we can play with it to see if we get the same issues.

Someone has a bad cough !

I downloaded the video and added it to the timeline with no issues. Try downloading that video and see if you can add it to the timeline.

Is your version of Power Director up to date?

Can you watch the video on a TV?

It is hard to trouble shoot a problem if it can't be reproduced. Perhaps someone else can also download and try.

evilmc - thank you for providing your dxdiag and a sample video. I have no problem opening the clip (see attached screenshot).

As stevek suggested, I also ran the clip through FormatFactory which created a similar quality video but only 1/3 the size. I've also attached that, so see if you can import it on your end.

If you want to try to fix your import issue without having to convert every clip first, take a look at these steps for using MultiAVCHD, and then follow the steps here. If you can now pass the MultiTEST, you should be able to import the files straight from your GoPro.

You may even want to download and run the MultiTEST tool first. My system could not pass test #3 until I installed and configured all the related utilities.

Good luck

@optodata,

I install everyting you say, but again show error for MP4 files :/

this is MultiTest:

* Checking AviSynth presence...
* [OK] AVISYNTH (encoded 7782 bytes)

* Checking AVC/H.264 decoding...
* [OK] AVC/H.264 (encoded 55846 bytes)

* Checking MPEG-2 decoding...
* [OK] MPEG-2 (encoded 2761 bytes)

* Checking VC-1 decoding...
! [ERR] VC-1 FAILURE

* All tests completed!
* 1 tests failed!

Maybe, problem is driver or reinstall PD 12 and all codec drivers?

Hi evilmc

You haven't setup MultiTest correctly because the VC-1 test has failed. That also happened to me, and it was because I had not configured ffdshow correctly. Please look at the tutorial closely and make sure you configure everything correctly.

There are some additional settings in the newer versions, but you can ignore or set them as you please. The main goal is to get all 4 tests to pass. I can send screenshots over if you're unable to get VC-1 to pass.

Hello optodata,

now I install all files step by step and MultiTEST is complete:

* Checking AviSynth presence...
* [OK] AVISYNTH (encoded 7782 bytes)

* Checking AVC/H.264 decoding...
* [OK] AVC/H.264 (encoded 4220 bytes)

* Checking MPEG-2 decoding...
* [OK] MPEG-2 (encoded 2761 bytes)

* Checking VC-1 decoding...
* [OK] VC-1 (encoded 2998 bytes)

* All tests completed!

But again PD not works

This is very strange. Maybe it will help to try the following steps in order:

1) open a command prompt as administrator. Type "sfc /scannow" to run the System File Check utility. Let us know if Windows reports any problems that it can't fix. Try importing the video clip.

2) If that doesn't work, uninstall PD12 (SmartSound AND Quicktime should prompt you to allow each to be uninstalled. Click Yes). Also uninstall the nVidia driver and reboot when finished.

3) Reinstall the nVidia driver, then reinstall PD12 (and click Yes to SmartSound and Quicktime. You may need to manually update QT afterwards). See if you can import the video.

What a relief! good job

Maybe you could add the word SOLVED to the title of this post so that other people will know how you fixed the problem.

Happy Editing!

Optodata -- Multitest only tests to see if the codec for Avisynth is correctly installed/configured which MultiAVCHD relies on. Most video editors will not or do not use any of these 3rd party codecs. I do have one video editor that will use them, but must be configure for each individual video file that is imported.

I don't know if PD12 uses DDShow or ffmpeg, but I doubt it. Intel i7 4770k, 16GB, GTX1060 3GB, Two 240GB SSD, 4TB HD, Sony HDR-TD20V 3D camcorder, Sony SLT-A65VK for still images, Windows 10 Pro, 64bit
