I am looking to make a highlight reel for a friend of mine and I have created one using Windows Movie Maker. However, he would like me to highlight him before each play starts. I am wondering which program could do this Director or Producer. Please help if you can.

My read would be PowerDirector. By highlighting him I assume you mean a short intro video.

If you rendered to a file format PD7 will import you would do that and or capture your video of him (intro or whatever) and put that on the timeline first followed by a few seconds of black and then his highlight reel.

Render (Produce) the whole thing to file or disk and you have it.

You can't really highlight the individual in a particular frame very easily but I've done the following.
1) Create a freeze frame at the start of the video
2) use a PIP with a red dot, red arrow or whatever highlight feature that you created in a png file separately
3) Position the PIP picture to “highlight” the particular individual in your footage

You can also use the PIP and position it at the start of you video and use PIP editor with various keyframes to move the highlight feature to follow your individual in the video for the first several seconds.

Thank you both for your insight. I downloaded the trial version of power director 7 and figued out that if I take a freeze frame shot of the play before it starts, I can use the focus effect and point out the player I am making the highlight film for. Thanks again fellas.

Use PiP and place a png file over the subject and track the individual as best you can.

Use PiP Designer to make the circle as transparent as you want.

I have posted this answer before on the forum.
