i would like to realize an animation like the maps in the indiana jones films: a line that is drawn between two locations with a map on the background. the line should not be straight because it must follow the path / road on the map.
is it possible with power director 12?
thanks!

Hi bosone,

There are indeed trip generating apps out there that I'm sure others will chime in with.

This PowerDirector tutorial may also help with your desired task.
Yes, the method involves a third party image editor (of your choice) to create an overlay mask, and it can be a bit labor intensive. However, it may help you achieve the clean results that you're trying to accomplish.

There is a somewhat expensive program designed to do a trip routing that has a lot of options. If you do a lot of traveling and what to use it extensively, then you might want to try "Vasco da Gama" Here for the cheapest version and demo.

I assume this is not spam because PowerDirector does not have these capabilities. I did have a free version of it and it was in English. It worked well but I didn't use it enough to get good at it. .

I have used several methods to accomplish this.

All the above suggestions work- depending on how much time, ease of use and money you want to spend.
The quickest (and cheapest) is the free Route Generator Carl linked to above.

I also have the latest version of Vasco Da Gama as Steve linked to above and it is indeed a very powerful program- but is quirky and not too user friendly in my opinion.

There is also another paid program that I also use which I consider the easiest, similar to the free Route Generator, but has much more functions and features. It is ProDad's Heroglyph: http://www.prodad.com/home/products/videotiteling/heroglyph/300514306,l-us.html. This suite of tools has the "Travel Route Wizard" which will do the map anim you want.
