Problem with Fast Forward and Resume Playback on WTV (MediaCenter) files

There seems to be an annoying problem when playing back files recorded with MediaCenter .wtv

If you start to fast forward quickly up to 16x or 32x and then press play to resume normal playback if this is done too quickly i.e. you didn't mean to do it in the first place or only want to skip a few seconds anyway then the sound and video end up completely out of sync. The sound continues from when you started the fast forward the video resumes from the point after skipping.

This does not occur if you let the FF continue for a few seconds.

Even more annoying is that after having to stop the playback ( to fix the sync ) you cannot resume from place last played and have to go all the way back to the beginning.

probably a bug in general. have you tried such actions with other file types? you should probably report this to tech support to get this fixed.

Unfortunately tech support = hours and hours of my time instead of tech support doing the troubleshooting themselves.

In the meantime just use another player for .wtv files ... but the eminant demise of MediaCenter despite being one of the best players on the market means have to test alternatives.

Hi,
can you double check if your file is found in the Movie library or in the Video Library?

PowerDVD 14 supports resume, also for WTV but the file must be found in the Movie Library.

thx

Thank you, placing WTV folder into Movies is much more reliable ... why can't the Videos folder play Videos saved as Movies ?
I'll keep on eye on it in coming days to see if further problems.
