PIP Designer "Reflection"

Hi All...I'm a newbie as of noon today and I've been working all day with PD12 LIVE. I've got the jist of everything and its going well although slow...but it will take time. One thing I can't find online/Youtube/Forums has to do with specific "reflections" in PIP Designer. I've done the following:
* Inserted video to timeline
* Resized video to play next to Title slide so that text and video are shown side by side
* I have modified the angle of the PIP design to give it an angled look right to left
* I choose "reflection" but here are my two questions:
1. Although the PIP design is angled, the reflection is straight. How do I edit the reflection so that it flows with the angle of the PIP design?
2. The reflection goes to the bottom of the screen. I want to modify the reflection (crop maybe?) so that it reflects only a certain distance out from PIP design. When I choose "distance" is pushed the beginning of the reflection out farther, what I want is the opposite when the end of the reflection is closer to the PIP design.

Like I said, I'm a newbie so I apologize if this information is somewhere online or in these forums but I can't find them at this time.

Thanks in advance!

Joel Thanks

Joel

Hi Joel -

Here's what the reflection in PiP Designer does, based on your description.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're getting & what you want?

Cheers - Tony

Thanks for the reply Tony. I feel like an idiot because now I can't figure out how to submit my pic. I've tried several different ways but nothing with stick within this window. There must be a process that I don't know about. Anyways, the diagram you sent is very close to what I have. What I am looking to do can be seen in the interview part of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CT5zXkjdU8E
Notice how the reflection is angled like the PIP...and the reflection is very short...that is what I am looking for. Thanks again

Thanks

Joel

Joel -

I've scratched around trying to find an "instant" way to get the reflection you're after, but I haven't succeeded yet. Perhaps someone will chime in to let you know a simpler way to do it.

What I've done here is duplicate the clip, flipped it upside down, dropped the opacity to 40% then applied a mask (inversed). The mask I used is attached.

By the way, here are some instructions on how to attach & embed your image in the forum. You can simply attach it if you don't need it to be displayed. https://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/24696.page#146280

As I said, there may be a simpler way to do it.

Cheers - Tony

Hi Tony,

I hope you didn't think i left you after your help. I was in a car accident and I'm finally getting myself back together. I'll go through your instructions and see if that helps.

Joel Thanks

Joel
