Hello,

How can i see if PowerDVD is playing an 3D Blu-ray correct ?
i have the feeling that by pressing the 3D button, Powerdvd starts an 2D -> 3D conversion.

is there anyway i can check if the Blu-ray is played correct ?
if i start the Blu-ray PowerDVD play's it in 2D there no message or anything that tells me that the source is 3D

You can recognize 2D->3D conversion by the black frame around the picture (also on left and right side of the picture)

This is the case, there is a big black square around the movie.
the configuration is as follows.

TV is Panasonic GT50
Receiver Pioneer LX83
HTPC with GTX 650 video card
Powerdvd 13 ultra
Blu-ray is 3D

everything above should be able to play 3D blu ray
the only thing left to do is check if the cables are HDMI V1.4 Compatible........
or do you have any other Suggestion ?

Just to make it clearer, can you please provide a screen shot too? Windows 7, i3, 4GB RAM.

@markw

Get and watch a regular 2D 1080p movie. If you press "3D" icon (for 2D->3D conversion) you can see black bars on left and right side of the picture.
But you cannot see these black bars if you watch a regular 2D movie in 2D mode or if you watch BD3D in real 3D mode.

Do you have a visible emitter? Is it "on"? .

I bought a new HDMI cable
I think it was the cable between my PC and receiver.

Setup is like this

HTPC - [GTX650] {}------------------------{} Pioneer LX83 {}------------------------{} Panasonic GT50

i just tested it with bluray 3d and, when is pressed the 3D icon it switched to 3d, and i did not felt en immediate headache.
Next i will check the difference in border around the movie with
2D -> 3D or 3D -> 3D
