It has been some time since I've been in the forum because I wasn't really able to use PowerDirector for a while because my computer simply didn't have the power in it. I had a Dell Inspiron 1525.

Now I have a new HP. It came preloaded with PowerDirector 10 and a few other Cyberlink Products (PowerDvd, PhotoDirector).

The power of your computer will vastly affect what you are able to do in powerdirector and how quickly you are able to do it. With my old system it took over an hour to render a 3 minute video. With my new computer, it takes a few minutes.

Videos I uploaded to YouTube over a year ago in HD still look good, but they skip at certain points, most likely because when I was in Edit mode, the computer probably overheated or something. I can't blame the program for anything so before you blame the program for anything, make sure your hardware is up to the task.

This is a GREAT entry and intermediate level program I can't speak from an expert status, because I am not an expert editor. I have decent editing skills and can hold conversations with most advanced editors. This is because I have learned so much in PowerDirector. It is easy to use and fun to make mistakes because they are easy to correct. I am very impressed by the fact that the program is up to 12 so you tell you that this company really stands behind its product and is continually improving on it.

I learned a lot through the forum by asking questions and reading through responses instead of getting frustrated. In the forum, pinpoint what you are trying to accomplish first. It makes it easier for people to answer the question.

So that is pretty much all I have to say for now. So Welcome to PowerDirector and have fun Editing!
