Multi-Cam Transitions?

How do you do transitions with multi-cam?
If I place them on the clip after I created the multi-cam track, it reduces the length of the video. I want to be able to fade from one cam to the other, without clipping any of the time.

Test this...
Right-click the transition and modify transition behavior to CROSS-FADE. That mode does not abridge.
Set the default transition mode in EDIT|PREFERENCES|EDITING.

It's also worth remembering that the individual clips mixed in the MC module and transferred to the main timeline can be lengthened or shortened by dragging the edge boundaries as normal.

In effect the MC module applies mark in/out markers to the original clips (which are still "available" in their entirety) and applies the marked clip to the main timeline.

So, if you need overlap transitions, it may be possible to manually adjust the start and end of the relevant clips to allow for the transition time and retain the desired video length.
