use project file from older version

I am about to upgrade from PD11 to PD12.
Can I export a project from PD11
and later on import it into PD12 for further editing ?
I realise I can produce a file to use later, but my individual clip and images would then be rendered together.

Hi

You can open a project create in an earlier version of PD. But cannot open a newer version project in an older version of PD.

eg PD11 to PD12 Yes, PD12 to PD11 No.

Note: If you have Packed the Project Materials from the PD11 project some of them may not be recognised by PD12.


I always Produce my projects first before opening a new version of PD.

I am half way through a project, have already produced my up to date file, so wont be losing anything .

Project files working fine from both the original PD11 file,
and using the exported packed folder.
