problem with titel-designer

I have PD7 - 1714 and a problem with the titel-designer.
I load a titel-template into the title-track - for example Abitur 004 (graduation 004 ?) - or anyone else with background. It is ok but I am german and need to change the text. So I open the titel-designer and ... the background is not there. I change the text and got back to the main-aread and also in the previewie-window I miss the background. I see only the the text with animation.

Anyone else with this feature, or is this a problem only on my computer? Viele Gruesse Georg

Hi Georg,

I've got the overlay png in mine showing. 2 images attached.

Did you opt to Save the alteration?

Got the same result using the graduation title. The others seem to be working fine.

Sorry guys. My fist tests were done on an old project created under pd6.
Opened a new project with a few color boards and tried titles.

Now I get the same problem whether it be 4x3 or 16x9

perhaps it is a problem with the person in front of my computer

So, I make another test: I have downloaded some titel-templates with background from directorzone and it works with this templates.

Nobody else with this problem? Viele Gruesse Georg

Hi Georg,

Can you please check to see if you have the image file at the following location?
C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Titles\Title_036\draft4.png

Let me know.

yes

If I start the titel-template in PD7 I see the titel complete. Onyl if I try to change the text in the text-designer there is noc background and when I go back to the timeline it is also away.

Another idea - I have the german version installed. I have little difference in the path. Perhaps that ist the problem. My pathes C:\Programme\Cyberlink\PowerDirector\Titles\Title_036

When I load down a title-template from directorzone it is all ok.

We found an solution for this problem!

Go this way:

for example titel Abitur 004 / Graduation 004

1. Go to the folder C:\Program files\Cyberlink\Powerdirector\titles\Tiltes_036
2. search for the file TitleTemplate.clt and make a copy with another name
3. open the original clt-file with a text-editor
4. search for "PNG"
5. delete the path before - like "C:\program files\Cyberlink\powerdirector\titles\title_36
6. enter "." - it must look like this: filename=".\draft4.png"
7. save the file
8. open PD7
9. look for the aspect ratio - it must be for this title 4:3
10. open the titel in the titel-designer and ...

We hope - all on the right place.

Thanks Georg for the excellent write up.

I've to reason why Chris was having the same issue - the solution should work for him also.

I should also point out that Georg's issue was to do with him using a different language OS set up. The address he had to use was: C:\Programme\Cyberlink\PowerDirector\Titles\ and the clt file wasn't pointing to that named address.

The solution has been sent to CyberLink RD.

The .\ address method is the same one applied when Robert and I made a watermark Title for PD6. ".\" is an instruction to look in the same directory as the clt file.
