Watching the waveforms makes editing much easier, but they are obscured by the titles of the video clips. is there a way to remove the names so I can just see the waves? especially when you start splitting them, the names are everywhere in each clip

Yes, the tool tips are a pain.

Unfortunately no way to remove them.
If you wait a few seconds, don't they go away?

Hi rtys,

If you are talking about the the little Windows info boxes that pop-up, then Carl is right,

you just have to wait till they disappear.

However, if you are talking about the clip titles that are embedded into the audio clips in your timelines, then yes, you can remove them by following the steps shown here. . .

Basically…
- Highlight the clip or audio.
- Right click and choose Change Alias in the menu.
- In the Alias box, delete the characters.

Thanks, that worked! is there a way also to make the waves zoom in/vertically, like as if they were louder? would be easier to see as well.

Move your mouse to the left pane, Click the line between the video and audio and drag it down to expand it vertically and resize it.
or
Right click anywhere on that pane or a blank spot on the the timeline and select > Adjust Track Height > Large.

Hi rytis,

Not sure I completely understand what you mean, but I think RobAC nailed it
Enlarge the Timeline, And Expand the timelines as shown here.
