Best websites for free background music downloads

I'm sure I asked before, but I can't find the answer anywhere!

What is your favourite website for downloading background music for your video productions?

I'm looking for instrumental only, various genres but basically easy listening. At the moment I'm wanting 50's and 60's sounding music to go behind the vintage 8mm film transfers I've done.

I'm finding it difficult to find a trustworthy site, I've had 2 suspicious sites download odd things to my computer, antivirus etc catching them. I know about Freestockmusic.com which is quite good, but mostly a bit 'big' for little home movies.

What are your suggestions? Free. Safe. variety. Thanks! Jenny

Barry has gone to great efforts, and has done a superb job of compiling a site filled with useful links to a lot of cool stuff that can be added to one's arsenal of video editing tools, that many forum members may not be aware of.

NOTE: If you and others find Barry's site to be as useful as I have, perhaps express your appreciation for his efforts via the the DONATE Button on his "Links Page" here...
