Hi
I usually capture video edit it and then burn it to a folder. Is there some reason you have to produce it? Does it affect the size or whatever?
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask but cant find anything else about it elsewhere.
Programme works a treat though.
Thanks

Jeremy

Hi,
Power director has to produce the video with the effects and format that you have specified in the production timeline. These are written in the pds file that it creates. Then when the final production is compiled it uses that information ( along with the format you choose in the final phase (AVcHd, Mpeg-2 etc to write the final video).

Thanks for a quick response. I sort of understand what you say but if I edit the video, add some effects, title it add chapters etc. and then I use create disk all the effects are still there. So, I still don't quite fully understand the need to produce it first, as there seems to be no need.

I have probably misunderstood the process but it seems to be a step that is not needed as the end result is the same.
Perhaps you could clarify that

Thanks

Jeremy

Hi,
The production takes some of the strain of the system, especially with larger files and may or may not save some time in the final 'Create disk' phase. It is not necessary but a good practice (in my opinion)
