DVD Intro Screen auto play... SOLVED!
[Post New]
I'm going to be selling my dvd's at a local gallery. I bought a TV/DVD combo to play a trailer on, but want to show the opening screen with instructions to use the remote to click play to watch the trailer. Is it possible in power director 11 to keep the intro screen from automatically timing out and make it so the video will only play when the play button is pushed?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Dustie -

Perhaps I don't properly understand your needs, but could you not just use the opening screen as a "First Play Video"? That will play before the main menu page.

Possibility?

Cheers - Tony

You could unselect the "Auto menu time out" in the "Set your disc playback mode". The playback will stay on the menu root page until you select a option. The root page could be your instructions.

I'm trying to prevent the video from playing when no one is there. When someone is browsing, I'd like them to see my lovely opening screen which will, hopefully, entice them to want to follow the directions to push play on the remote and then proceed to watch the trailer. Hopefully, when the trailer is done, it will go back to the opening screen and and there it will stay until someone else clicks play.

What I'm trying to avoid is for the movie to start playing automatically so it won't just keep playing over and over again.

If I set it as first play video, will it just keep playing the first play video until someone clicks play to move it to the actual trailer? Then will it automatically reset itself when the trailer is done?

The only other option is to have the video playing in a loop all day and that might make those working in the gallery nuts having to listen to the same music over and over and over again all day long. Dustie

The first play video will play once then arrive at the Root Menu page.

Jeff's suggestion of using the root menu page as the instructions is probably going to work better for you, I think.

Jeff, it worked! Thanks, an easy fix.

Tony, you read my mind. Your idea might have worked too, but for now, this is what I needed.

Thanks to you both for your wonderful and fast help! You're the best
