Using PD V12 - Cannot get system to "Produce" a video that includes my beginning Title Tracks

I've been working on this the better part of the day. I'm generally liking what I see (downloaded the trial version about 9 hours ago). I've rendered a compiled video a few of times, complete with with Chapter and Sub-Titles; added some intro music, and it's been tolerable user-friendly, except for one thing.

In my Timeline, I start out with music and an splash Title screen (modified from "Interaction_04" which I downloaded from the Templates). I have two title screens loaded, and the system plays the video perfectly from the Timeline screen. However, when I change to "Produce", the system plays the audio track for the entire time the first Title is supposed to display but not Title screen displayes. After the music ends, and the the system is supposed to transition to the second Title screen that part works, and everything after that point works well, too.

I have tried several times, to no avail. From both the Preview at the Produce screen, and from the recorded Video, the First Title page is lost. Any hints?

Perhaps a screen shot of your user edit screen showing the timeline.

Without knowing what is on your timeline, we would just be guessing. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Thank you for the screen shot.

I do not see anything wrong in the screen shot.

I tried a similar video, I put two interaction Titles and Magic Music with Nature.mpg.

I produced that test as 720x480 WMV, the produced video has all of the elements on the timeline.

Attached is a screen shot of my edit screen.
Attached is a 720x480 WMV produce of the project.

Hello Carl312,
I've tried a few more things, to no avail. e.g., I swapped Title Page #1 and #2 -- makes no diff. I tried disabling the animation, the animation won't stay turned off. Even though I saved it AFTER I unchecked the box, the next time I opened it, the check was back in place. I'm trying to load the 1.2GB file to my Dropbox, but maybe I need a different Title Page mechanism. Something more simple? I'm digging, but I have not been able to discover how I install the Templates I downloaded. They end in .dzm and are in my download folder.

Unfortunately, I'm trying to learn this through the "trial by fire" method, so everything needs to be very intuitive. Any quick tutorials that simply show how to load some videos, create a menu system, then burn the DVD? Many seem to be focused on transitions and advanced programming. I just need to create simple training videos and get them out to our hundreds of members.

Thanks for your able assistance!

To install any downloaded template, you double click the DZ? file to install into Powerdirector. DZM is a menu. They would be found in the Create Disk Module in Menu preferences Tab.

There a lots of tutorials for Powerdirector.

PD 11, applies to PD 12

The First Title page is lost. Any hints?

Hi obiwan,

AS you said, I notice in you screen shot that there is no Enable/Disable checkbox in your Title track. You seem to indicate that the checkbox comes and goes?

This is probably the main, or at least a contributing factor. The check box should be there and visible.
But as you know, you can use any track for Titles, so moving them to a new track may be a sufficient workaround until you get this issue resolved. It may also be glitch as you say you are using the trial version.

This issue has come up before in earlier versions of PD.
As I recall, a complete re-install repaired it, but you could use this forum’s Search feature to see if you can locate the thread(s) on this similar issue.
I believe in was Ron H (?) that also had this issue in PD10 or 11.

This is first I’ve seen it reported in PD12, but perhaps someone will chime in with a solution to retrieve the missing Enable/Disable checkbox in your title track.

Sharp eyes, Cranston!

I did not notice the missing checkboxes on Title in his screenshot.

PD Trial - 12.0.2109.0 ; VDE130909-03 ;
64-Bit Version. Windows 7 machine.

Cranston -- I see now that I have NO checkbox next to Title. The compilation plays perfectly in the TimeLine today, as it did before. I've moved the Title Tracks back to where they are supposed to be -- in the proper order, then I deleted the animation from the Title.

I've pasted a current Shot here - http://iareia.com/library/cyberlinkscreenshot/ScreenShot2013.10.09.png

It's still working fine in the timeline. So, I rendered and ... it still didn't work. I have posted a link to the file here

I tried my AVS Editor but PD appears to be easier for adding sound tracks (couldn't even figure out how to do it, with AVS. I'm sure if I looked long enough, I could find some instructions, but ... who's got that kind of time now-a-days?). My next choice is to just take the fancy background of "Interactive" out of the picture completely.

I'll try to install some more menus/titles while I wait for hints on what to try next. TIA!

Carl312 - These tutorial links are ... AWESOME! Thank you for taking the time to share them. I discovered that I can take the Titles and insert them in front of the Video, on the video track. This is my last effort to render with this Interactive Suite of Titles. If this doesn't work, I'll switch to something less exciting. I did move the *.DZM files into the PowerDirector Programs directory, then expanded/installed. The messages said they installed fine, but ... no menus. I'll keep looking. Maybe I need to exit then reload? Don't know but ... I'm becoming optimistic that ... I may have finally found the Video Editor I need for the long term. If I can only get this one to render! I'll know shortly...

obiwan1250,

I see in your latest screen shot your title track still does not have a checkbox.

Try closing Powerdirector, Then open Powerdirector by itself. Not from the PDS file you currently are using.

Does the title track have a checkbox? .

If no checkbox, re-install Powerdirector.

If there is a checkbox, start a new Project

Those tutorials are great, they were made by a bunch of great editors.

It's working! I moved the title pages off of the Title Track and into a Video Track, and that made all the difference. First Video is Produced, and now being "manufactured".
