Welcome to the ADR forum.
When video clips are sent to ADR for audio editing, & the adjusted file is returned to PDR, WAV is the standard format. That cannot be changed.
I am confident that the conversion to WAV format in ADR is not responsible for the "echo/hollow effect". That would be the result of adjustments you made to the clip.
An alternative process is:
1. In PDR's media library, right click on the WMV file & extract the audio.
2. Open ADR & import the extracted audio (WAV)
3. Make whatever adjustments are needed.
4. Produce the audio clip in your preferred format - mp3?
5. Import the produced audio into PDR and use it as the audio track for your WMV clip.
Question: Your WMV file - is the MP3 a separate audio clip or is that the audio format of the video?
