importing .pds files

Hi, everyone.

I've been making "videos" from my .jpg images by adding movement, rotation, and zoom to emphasize elements in the image. When I save my work, it gets saved in a .pds extension format. When I import this .pds file, however, it is imported as the .jpg file, even though it retains all the changes I made in producing the .pds file. I'm thinking this might get confusing and wondering why the project isn't imported under the new .pds designation, permitting any additional changes to made on the new .pds file.

There must be a reason, though I can't think of one offhand. Can anyone explain this disparity to me?

PDS is a PowerDirector container for the project which, when opened, will "spit out" the exact material that was saved - whether it be .jpg images, various video file types, audio files or the like. So it's working as intended.

Once restored, you can make additional changes, then resave the project, or SAVE AS, under a different file name. You can also pack the project's materials. Check the ? HELP file for more info.

I was comparing it to PhotoShop's method of saving any modified file as a .psd extension (which can be further worked) unless one chooses to "save as" a final form in another format.

Parallel paths to similar ends.
