Just to show what is possible, here is a 4K flower video that looks incredible even in 1920x1080.

Unfortunately I do not know how to do that properly

ENJOY!!

Eugene

PS A TV manufacturer called SEIKO sells pretty basic 4K UHD TV sets on Amazon, starting at $700 for a 39" set. Read the reports by customers, very interesting.
I certainly would buy one as a PC monitor once HDMI 2.0 is incorporated. The existing HDMI 1.4 only allows a field rate of 30Hz. And I shoot in 60Hz. Might just happen in the next 6 months. I hope they hurry, my age is 80. 73s, WA6JZN ex DL9GC

Certainly beautiful Eugene -

Here's an interesting take on 4K from a low-budget filmaker - http://nofilmschool.com/2013/08/to-4k-or-not-to-4k/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+nofilmschool+%28nofilmschool%29 - thought you'd be interested.

By the way, I've been on an intermittent mission to test 4K videos produced in PD on various 4K TVs. It's an incomplete mission, but I'll keep you posted.

Cheers - Tony

Jim, Sony has dropped the price of the 55" to $3500 here and so did their competitors . I Australia the price was dropped too but is still a lot higher than here.
The fact that Seiko can sell these 4K sets that low seems to indicate that the yield is in the same order as 2k panels.

Tony , as you know I did not have any success trying to play any PD edited 4K video on the Sony unit. The closest was the Mp 4 format, the sound worked, the file name and resolution was displayed properly but just a green screen.

Read the article, very appropriate. He mentioned Netflix, I understand that they are already streaming 4k for test purposes. Here in the evening 40% of internet traffic is Netflix.

Will download the baby folder and play with it some more in the next few days.

Best regards

Eugene
