Can anyone explain what Stabilizer is doing? I've rendered a couple test videos (sea kayaking videos with quite a bit of inherent movement in the source) with & without it but I'm really not seeing much difference. What effect does moving the slider on the Stabilizer page have? When would you move it and for what purpose? What setting makes the most sense? What should "Fix rotational camera shake" do? Other than render time, are there any downsides to using Stabilizer? Appreciate any help.

Anyone have any comments? Is anyone using Video Stabilizer? What have you found?

Most free video stabilizers work by zooming in on the video which give an appearance of some stabilization. The slider adjusts the amount of zoom. It does NOT really stabilize a video that is more than a little bit shaky. I have not tried the one in Power Directror.

There are some pay for stabilizers like this one: http://newbluefx.com/product/stabilizer There is a 14 day trial I assume that you are NOT talking about that one.

Because you are zooming in, you will lose some of the video near the outside edges.
