avi and MPEG-2 renders work fine, but MPEG-4 do not

I've been having this issue with 2 projects I'm working on. They appear to render fine to MPEG-4, but they only play for a little bit and then crash Media Player (Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file). Both of these files bounce fine to AVI and MPEG-2.
I know at least one of these files rendered fine to MPEG-4 when I first started working on it a few weeks ago.

Anything to look for in order to troubleshoot?

Thanks in advance.

You could try a K-Lite Codec pack 32 bit and 64 bit. That might fix the Windows Media Player problem.

You can also try VLC to see if it will play the MP4 files.

MediaInfo can tell the parameters of the MP4 video file.

Search for the names. They are all free downloads.

VLC worked perfectly fine here. So, are there any codecs that we need to set up here first?

You can install K-Lite Codec Pack, then Windows Media Player will also work.

I recommend the Full or Mega Pack both 32 bit and 64 bit if your computer is 64 bit.
