Hi Frank -
It's a tough one to solve.
The way PD11's contents packs are installed is different to PD10. PD
10's are installed in separate folders from the program files in
C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\templates, so they can be uninstalled separately &, as Carl suggested, they appear as separate programs in Control Panel > Programs & Features.
PD
11's contents packs are a different kettle of fish. To my knowledge, the included templates are installed within the PD11 Program Files folder.
- N.B. I installed PD11 as part of DirectorSuite, so it may not be the same as a basic PD11 installation
If you extract the Content Pack Premium installer (I'm using IZArc) and look in "Data1.7z" you'll see the folders containing different templates & media. I understand from your previous posts that you've done this.
e.g. • the "FutureTech" menu is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Menus
• the "Frozen Space" slideshow template is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Slideshow
• the "Ink Splatter" style template is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Styles
• all the titles are installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Titles
Therefore, you'd
think that if you uninstalled PowerDirector 11, you'd be uninstalling the Contents Packs because they're stored within the Program Files folder... particularly if you've used a dedicated uninstaller.
At times when I've needed to re-install contents packs, the installer detects the presence of the pack on my system & I'm prompted to uninstall. Then everything carries on as normal.
I don't have an answer for you, Frank. I was just trying to think it through. To me, it's mystery why you're getting that error message.
Cheers - Tony
