I am having problems installing the premium pack. Tried all sorts to resolve the problem, including uninstalling the entire pd11 with youruninstaller and CLuninstaller tool. So I was wondering as there is a CLpd11 uninstaller tool is there an uninstaller tool for the premium pack? I did manage to install the premium pack when I first got the software but at first I had trouble with Pd11 itself so I uninstalled the lot and reinstalled, but the premium pack just wont re-install.

So is there an uninstaller tool for the Premium Content pack?

Thanks in advance :

Thanks guys. But none of the links show me the cleaner tools for the Premium packs. I have downloaded and used the CL cleaner for the actual program pd11 but I believe the reminants of the Premium pack are still in there stopping me re-installing the premium pack.

I get the message " Error applying transforms. Verify the specified paths are valid........" it then gives me the location of the 1033.mst file. I looked in that folder and 1033.mst file is there. Its not locked. I have installed using myself as admin. I have been in regedit and only found one mention of the Premium Pack and deleted that. Running out of options...........

I have also looked in setup ini files to see if I can alter anything, but found nothing obvious. Changed nothing. I will sort this but a premium pack uninstaller would I think have helped.

Did you look in the standard Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features?

There should be a remove of the Content Packs there.

You can also do the manual delete of the Files in the Cyberlink folder on the C drive.

Am assuming you have Windows 7.

I found this with a Google Search:

Yes I did look in control panel

I have done better than a manual delete I used a powerful removal too that removes all traces.

Yes I have Windows 7

I too used google search and found the removal tool listed there. But as I said previously there is no Premium pack removal tool on there.

UPDATE

I gave up on the install method. Instead I worked my way into the files. Found all the extra's in there PIP's, Styles, Slideshows etc and manually put them in my PD11 folder/s. So problem solved, sort of. All the premium content is now on my disc.

Ironically it took me less time to do it than just one of the uninstall/reinstalls.

Thank you all that have taken the time to reply

Footnote.

Talk about timing. I have just had an email from support. They have given me a link to the CLcontent pack Premium uninstaller too. Of couse now I dont need it. Apparently they were checking to ensure that I have a proper registered version. Ohhh well.

You might want to take a look at the free REVO uninstaller. It is excellent at ferreting out bits and pieces of software that other uninstallers leave behind.

I had basically the same problem re-installing some software, the computer would say that it is already installed. The REVO UI took care of that problem.

I have got Revo uninstaller and in one or two of my CL PD11 uninstalls I used it. However I prefer YourUninstaller. More intuative and still gets as many files and registry items removed. I think CL products are so intertwined you can never really get rid of all the programs.

Hi Frank -

It's a tough one to solve.

The way PD11's contents packs are installed is different to PD10. PD10's are installed in separate folders from the program files in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\templates, so they can be uninstalled separately &, as Carl suggested, they appear as separate programs in Control Panel > Programs & Features.

PD11's contents packs are a different kettle of fish. To my knowledge, the included templates are installed within the PD11 Program Files folder.
- N.B. I installed PD11 as part of DirectorSuite, so it may not be the same as a basic PD11 installation

If you extract the Content Pack Premium installer (I'm using IZArc) and look in "Data1.7z" you'll see the folders containing different templates & media. I understand from your previous posts that you've done this.
e.g. • the "FutureTech" menu is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Menus
• the "Frozen Space" slideshow template is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Slideshow
• the "Ink Splatter" style template is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Styles
• all the titles are installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Titles

Therefore, you'd think that if you uninstalled PowerDirector 11, you'd be uninstalling the Contents Packs because they're stored within the Program Files folder... particularly if you've used a dedicated uninstaller.

At times when I've needed to re-install contents packs, the installer detects the presence of the pack on my system & I'm prompted to uninstall. Then everything carries on as normal.

I don't have an answer for you, Frank. I was just trying to think it through. To me, it's mystery why you're getting that error message.

Cheers - Tony

In my case I had that problem did not install the package effects PD11, probably because I have PD11 and PD10 on the same PC.
I did everything you did and did not work, only after running ClCleaner resouveu me for 2 packages of effects.
Now when I run this application it already uninstalled normally, makes some alteration in the register that resolves to me.

Guys. Thanks for the replies but as I have the contents now I have sort of given up as to why it was not working.

However I agree with the assumption that there is something in the registry that blocks the install. I did a 'Reg edit' and found only one reference to the premium pack and deleted that. Still would not load. Just out of sheer curiosity I may run the CL premium pack uninstall then attempt an install just to see if it works.

Yes I still have PD10 on my system. Thats what I ment when I said all the Cyberlink programs are intertwined in someway.

Its like the inverse on the masks that (I posted in another thread) there is no reason as to why the mask wont invert but it doesnt. The mask simply goes all black. I have checked the MASKS folder and the inverse mask for each is in there. I am quickly coming to the assumption I have a bad disc or something.

As I said previously I am going to try the cl uninstall for the premium pack and see what happens. No advantage but just out of sheer curiosity.

UPDATE

Just of of curiosity I ran the CLContent Premium uninstaller then tried to install the Premium Pack. As I type this its working. Sods Law as we call it in the UK.

Its finished and loaded without problem. If a mod reads this from Cyberlink PLEASE put all your uninstallers on one page??? Save a lot of hassle.

Sure is. I did several searches and never found it. Eventually Support sent me a link to download it. Thats what I ment when I said I wished they would put all the uninstallers on one easy page.
