Reconnecting items in the Media Library

I seem to have made the mistake earlier today of launching my PowerDirector project prior to turning on my External HDD containing all the video clips. In doing so, I may not have followed all the prompts correctly - now it would appear that the clips on my time line (now blank) are no longer linked to the source clips on my Ext. HDD. In the process, it would appear that the clips were removed from my library. I have since reloaded them into the library expecting, since they have neither been moved or renamed, that the PowerDirector libarary would automatically detect and resync the contents of the library.

I can't seem to find instructions anywhere or a dialog box that tells me how to resync the video clips to my project media library and thus my video project. I am basically a new user to PowerDirector and am in the practice of creating a new library for each of my projects. Thus having a different library containing on the media assets needed for that project to avoid information overload.

I have spent many hours editing all the clips on the two hour timeline and would not be a happy camper if I had to start over because of a corrupted library (media file) module.

Any and all assistance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Vernon C. Ray

See Carl's response in your duplicate thread...

And in the future, this URL may help with project management...

Borgus1, Carl312 - Thanks to both of you for your timely suggestions. Carl's information on the locations of the Auto Save files was invaluable. Using the Auto Save backup, I was able to quickly restore my project and get back to work.

I have since watched both of the "Project Mgmt" tutorials and will incorporate that advice into any of my future projects. Thanks again!!! Vernon C. Ray
