This is freaky and it's driving me nuts. Whenever I use a motion template
or motion thumbnails, when I create the DVD the menu is upside down
and backwards.

The DVD burns fine but just the menu is upside down and backwards.

If I use the regular menus eveything is fine.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening??

Before I purchased this version. I tried it out from downloading the program from the newsgroups and the motion menus worked fine.

I contacted customer support and I uninstalled the program. I removed
it from the registry, I updated my Direct X, adjusted my screen settings.

BUT STILL BACKWARDS AND UPSIDE DOWN MOTION MENUS!!!

any suggestions???

Marchetti,

Oh boy this sounds "fun",

Can you expand on: "If I use the regular menus eveything is fine. "

What are you using as the menus? All details: Image file size, extension, dimensions, definition - any and every little bit of info.

Did CL techs ask for specific menu information?

I'm concerned the text displays backwards.

Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Menus\Party\Background
Here .thl and xml files are associated with the jpg background images and mpg motion menu's. (The same data is in other Menu directories).

Thanks for the reply..Here Goes:

After I create my project.
I go to CREATE Disc:

Which brings me to the screen with the templates.
If I select any of the motion templates or if I select "enable video thumbnail in the "CREATE DISC PREFERENCE".

After the disc is burned the Text is backwards & Upside down
and so are all the thumbnails.

This is so bizarre.

If I select the "non" Motion templates and uncheck enable video thumbnail
it is normal.

Like I mentioned before. I had downloaded Power Director from the newsgroups and it worked perfectly.

Any suggestions??

Hi,

I'll look at this a little later today. I have come across a similar problem with a different company's video capture software a couple of years ago which I was checking/reviewing - it was caused by a codec (dll file used to render a video sequence). I'm wondering if you've basically got a corrupted program and any repeated re-installation doesn't help. There is also the problem of drivers on windows not being overwritten when an installation is re-installed - a corrupted file is a bit of a sod to remove.

I'll run through this later and see what I come up with.

"fun" = interesting to see if the problem can be repeated.

Thanks for your help.
I figured out the problem. I'll post the my findings in case anyone else
runs into the problem.

The problem was in the sound selection in the create dvd section.

When I downloaded the new program it was set to LCPMS instead of
DOLBY DIGITAL. After I switched it and created another disc the templates
were fine!!! I'm so releived. The assholes in customer support never even
answered me.

Thanks again
