Not certain that this will achieve the desired result, but it's worth a test...

After creating the slideshow and clicking NEXT choose ADVANCED EDITING.
Then, on the timeline, place the pointer on the right margin line. When it becomes a two-headed arrow drag the line leftwards - to the length desired. If "trim only?" appears, answer YES.

What you're working with is a template that is only partly within your control. In all PD's slideshow templates, the more images that are used, the longer the slideshow will be. Timing of image duration & transitions is built into the template and cannot be adjusted.



As borgus1 has suggested, the slideshow can be trimmed, which removes images from the show but doesn't change the timing.

The only way to get what you want is to:
1. Use the right number of images to give you the total duration you're after
2. After you build the slideshow, produce it to video format then apply Video Speed
