There have been menus that appear to not have thumbnails.

Powerdirector does not create "TEXT" Menus. You can fool it to appear there are no thumbnails.

You're not missing anything.

I'd like to be able to explain "how to" make menus without thumbnails but I honestly don't know. I've made dozens of them, but they were all modifications of another forum member's work - Jeff (JL_JL).

Unfortunately, Jeff is no longer active in the forum. He's probably one of the few people who'd be able to explain "how to".

PD11 allows a maximum of 14 chapter/title buttons per menu page, so your 16 chapters would need to be spread over two pages (8 on each).

This tutorial http://youtu.be/rGCM_Vs4O-M shows how to create & modify menus in PD... you'll notice it doesn't show how to create a menu without thumbnails!
