Hi All

Does anyone know how to hack/burn a blu-ray to 50P as there is no setting for this, even though there is a 50P setting in the Produce tab.

With PD converting from Progressive to Interlace scan affects the quality

Any ideas welcome

Amen on that one!!!

I look at every new update hoping it will have 50/60P burning capability. Unfortunately no one else has that either, all are citing lack of a standard.

We may see it in the fall, PD12. I hope.

So I have been burning 60P after editing in PD and making a 60P file. PD9FIX (written by Jmone two years ago, THANKS) is needed to correct the audio format, then TSmuxer and Roxio for burning. The BR disks play just fine but you are of course limited as to menu's etc, in other words NONE. But TsMuxer will add chapters, so all is not lost.

Part of the problem as I see it, is limited demand for 60P, most users are not aware of the big picture quality improvement it offers over 50/60interlaced.

Keep stirring the pot.

DHNJ could I get a copy too please?

Regards

Eugene

Thanks dhnj

Please consider posting your method of burning 50/60P material, I am sure it would be appreciated by some of us frustrated
aficionados.

1920x1080 with 50p/60p is not included Blu-ray Disc spec.
I doubt you can play the disc with every player... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi

For starters there is unfortunately nothing that will play in EVERY player.

For the last two years the majority of BR players will handle 50/60P. Some older players will play P after a firmware update.

The perfect example is my ancient Samsung BC-5500, OVER 3 YEARS old that had a firmware update TWO years ago and handles 1920x1080 60P just fine.

Why do mid range and up camcorders offer 60P?. Even Canon finally saw the light and offers it now. There is just too much of a PQ improvement to ignore.

60P IS AWESOME !! It provides the best possible picture quality within the 2K HD standard. Next step is 4K.

The AVCHD spec includes burning 50/60p to physical media and I would expect that Cyberlink should add this as a profile under that option (eg not under the BD profile)

In the interim the easiest is to create the file then use 3rd party material to create the AVCHD structure and burn it to a disc, though as pointed out you will not get any menus in this method.

I've updated the ReMuxPD batch file with some fixes but also the ability to remux your 50p content as a file, BD or AVCHD structure. You could then just burn the BD or AVCHD structure to disk.
