Resizing Video

Hi

I have a couple of MKV files which I want to join and convert to MP4's.
The Video is 720x576 but when viewed for some reason it's not proportional
everything looks really wide(somehow is was recorded wrong from a PVR).
For example a person looks really wider than normal.

I tried to resize the Video in the Preview Window but when I drag
the edges wether its top, botton, side or corners the rectange is always
auto-resizing and won't let met norrow the rectangle to the size I want.

Any ideas how to change it the size without auto-resizing ?

Hi Peter,

I think you need to untick (uncheck) the Maintain Aspect Ratio box within the Aspect Ratio section on the left of the PiP Designer popup windows that opens on clicking the Modify button above the time line while your video clip is highlighted...

Hi Jirka

Thank You for that, I did not see that setting because all my options had
expanded down the page which I did not see.

But..... I have 3 videos to join and it looks like it only allows me to do one at a time.

What's weird is in that PiP screen, it displays the still picture perfect but and as soon
as I press play it widens the video (showing the people wide). Bit by bit I have to
narrow the image and then play it to see what it looks like. A bit messy having to do
all 3 videos separate and trying to get them to look the same, but at least it gets me out of trouble.

Thanks

Peter

Hi again, Peter

You might actually need to check your project aspect ratio setting at the very top main menu.

In order to reproduce the size to each clip quickly and precisely, you should be able to use the Keyframe Settings, Clip Attributes section, where you get by clicking the Keyframe button above the time line and where you can enter the numeric values with your keyboard...
