I agree that the program is easy to miss. I found it by accident.
While Premier Elements is an obvious target for prospective PD11 customers, I think that CL is missing an obvious target if they ignore Premier Elements' big brother - Premiere CS6...
Right now, Adobe has stirred up a hornets nest with their move to Creative Cloud (CC) subscription-only contract. While it may be an appropriate solution for Adobe's support issues, it is causing many of their customers to question the value of their products.
I have a full CC contract. Next month, the charge goes up to $50/month. Because of this change, I reviewed my usage of the Adobe's CC products. While it's nice to have loads of powerful tools available, I found that:
1) Lightroom has become so powerful that it's now my primary photo management/editing tool. I just upgraded to V5.0 and it is excellent. Rather than use Lightroom CC, I'll upgrade to a standalone version of Lightroom V5.0 for $80 and use that.
2) I used Premiere and PhotoShop rarely and then only used about 1/10 of 1% of their features and horsepower. Nice tools, but I have neither the time nor need for what they offer. And, unless you use them constantly, you forget the subtleties of their UI. They are like military-grade weapons - amazing tools in the hands of an expert, but it takes lots of work to be an expert.
3) For their other artistic and software development tools, other than playing with them for a few minutes, I haven't used them at all in the last year. I own other tools that work well for me.
I think that there are other Adobe customers who are looking for a ProSumer video editing option. I'm sniffing at PD11 Ultimate Suite. Having an extra migration offer to sweeten the deal would certainly make it an easy decision. And it would attract other Premiere CS6 customers.
Regards,
Dan.
