Can you apply overlapping transition to all clips at once?
[Post New]
I've been a Sony Vegas Movie Studio user for years and one of my favorite features is a preference setting that automatically applies overlapping transitions between every clip when multiple clips are dragged to the track. I see where PowerDirector allows me to default overlap whenever I add a transition between two tracks...but I haven't yet found a way to apply it to all clips. Is there a way to do this?

Welcome to the PD11 Forum. If there is a way to do that, I would be delighted to learn it myself. To my current knowledge, it is not possible to do it all at once with a selected transition. Mind you, I have never poked around the "Magic" stuff.

Have a great day.

If you want to apply THE SAME transition to all then make that transition the only one in the "favorites" menu.

In addition to the icon shown in the tutorial, there are these - to the left, just above the timeline.

Bust my britches! Thanks borgus...couldn't be easier! (I liked the video tutorial). Believe it or not, this would have been a show-stopper for me going with PowerDirector.

Thanks, Borgus, for unveiling a "new" feature of PD11 of which I was previously unaware. ALWAYS LEARNING with this program. There are just so many goodies for the price.

Sorry for misleading anyone. I am still a "work in progress."

Have a great day.

How about only applying a selected Transition to a few tracks, selected tracks for example? PD12 Ultimate Suite (upgrade from PD11 Ultimate). PhotoDirector 5. PowerDVD13. YouCam 5.

PD11 does not allow transition apply to a group of selected clip.
The way I do, drag group clip to another track, lock on the main, apply only track I want, return the clip to the previous track.
Not very practical but it helps.

Sounds like a viable workaround.
I had the need for this the other week and would have been a time saver.
Maybe this should go into the feature requests. PD12 Ultimate Suite (upgrade from PD11 Ultimate). PhotoDirector 5. PowerDVD13. YouCam 5.
