1.. Import a Picture from PD background folder, to use as a Template, into PSHOP or GIMP.

2.. Select all and clear Picture, now you have a TEMPLATE to use.

3.. Import a picture into PSHOP or GIMP and then copy it.

4.. Paste your picture onto the TEMPLATE and then resize the picture to fit TEMPLATE.

5..Now rename template as a .jpg file and save it to the DESK TOP.

6..Open the PD background folder and then drag the picture from the DESK TOP into the folder.

I found that it can’t be saved directly to PD BACKGROUND folder; it will not be shown in PD if you do!

7.. Now run PD and open MEDIA ROOM then BACKGROUNDS, you should now see your new background picture displayed.

I found this is the only way to achieve this, unless anybody knows how you can??

Hi,
The image should be for 16:9, 1920 x 1080 and can import into the local address: C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector11\Background\16_9 without issue and display in PDR11 when Background selection is opened.

Edit: My attempt to display an image 2802 x 1480 failed.

I imported a 1920x1080 background without a problem. See attached image.

Hi Dafydd

I found this problem was only on my Tower computer VISTA but not on my Laptop WIN 7.

I done further testing on my Tower computer and It was all due to permissions.

What I found was, if I used PSHOP 7 It would save the file in BACKGROUND folder but it could not be seen by EXPLORER or PD11.

If I created the picture in PSHOP ELE 10 it would not allow me to save it to folder until I sorted the PERMISSIONS for this folder.

I Corrected this and it would save and be seen by PD11.

So thanks for confirming that it does work ok.
