Modern light/glare effects and transitions suggestion?
[Post New]
Hello,

so I am new owner of Creative Suite, did my first video, and now I have one question - you know, I would be OK without 90% of effects, transitions, pip objects and particles. Some effects are like 80ties video tape cartoons - all those ballons, well, nice for family videos for your 5 years old children and their friend, but come-on, are there any more serious effects available :

I looked at the NewBlueFX site, but find most of them uninteresting. Any other tips for effects/transitions, particles one could buy? And no, DirectorZone is not the answer either :

Well, each of us is aesthetically different, my need is something like glares, fade-ins-outs, lightning effects and particles, abstract. I don't want my videos being disturbed by something artificial, introducing foreign shapes, etc. I look for something more subtle, well, difficult to describe :

So, if you have any tips, please share :

Thanks a lot,
Petr

Have you tried the PDtoots site for How to and more advanced tutorials?
https://www.youtube.com/user/PDtoots

Each of the effects you describe can be achieved in PD with a little creativity & experimentation.

Pekr,
yes, many of the FX, (most maybe) on the DZONE are, artistically, hammer blows.
But to be an artist, you need to go deeper.
PDToots is great, it will open your eyes to all the different things you can do that the Cyberlink people didn't even think of. You can also get flashes and flares, waterfalls, explosions, as actual video files from other sources, and use them to get what you wish.

You'll find NEO's clip archive listed here, thousands of free video files, I just key-out the background.

Well, quite a lot of those files are 800x600, and if you use them as FX, taking up only a portion of the screen, there is no need for HD.
I'd like to add that Neo's is always adding files, though some places you need to register, so what's old to you and me, ain't necessarily old to new members. I still find media to use there. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
