Audio not being sent back to PowerDirector (11)

I wanted to EQ the audio in a video clip (Sequence 01.mp4). I sent it to Audiodirector (3). Once I was done, and clicked "yes" that I wanted edited filed saved and sent back to Powerdirector, AudioDirector saved a brand new file (Sequence 01.wav) but then the program just sat there. It didn't close, it didn't take me back to powerdirector. In fact, powerdirector told me it was busy when I tried to access it. My only way out was to close audiodirector (and click "no" don't save this time). When powerdirector becomes active again, there are no changes.

Hello antoniamar,

PowerDirector & AudioDirector are working together correctly here. I've just tested a number of clips out of PDR - sent them for editing in ADR - applied different effects each time - and they all returned to PDR as expected.

The screen capture attached shows the process. You can see/hear that the applied effect is present in the timeline clip.

Of course, that doesn't help you. It just helps to narrow down the problem. As far as I can see, it's not a glitch in ADR or PDR.

Can you provide any other information? e.g. In ADR, did the audio play as you expected after applying equalisation?

Yes, it is otherwise working fine. It makes the edits fine. I hear the changes. It saves the new audio file on my harddrive (it does not change my original file). It just doesn't send the file back and won't close unless I say don't save the file (even though the file has already been saved). When I'm back in PowerDirector, my original file is there, unchanged.

I ended up having to manually import the wav file and decouple the original audio from the video. I would like to not have to do that in future.

Just to clarify, you:
1. Select "Edit Audio" > AudioDirector
2. In ADR, you make the adjustments
3. Click Back
4. Save? Yes
5. Return to PDR

... but the audio in the timeline is unchanged?

Just trying to make sure I haven't missed anything.
