I know I want to buy this program, but it isn't stable on my computer. I'm wondering if I have enough server juice for this software.

1. Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit
2. PowerDirector 11 Trial 11.0.0.2707
3. VDE130107-06
4. AVCHD Video (.MTS)
5. Problem
a. Import media from HD
b. Place clip on timeline
c. Trim clip
d. Open text menu and created custom text
e. System seems to be rendering. 30 mins or so and the green line above the video clip never goes away
f. Program crashes
i. Also crashes after 15 clips are inserted to timeline and Magic Movie Wizard has been selected
6. McAfee
7. Can’t find
8. VideoStudio X6 – Trial
9. Roxio
10. N/A
11. Unable to locate
12. See attached

13,
welcome to the forum.
I see a dated graphics driver, consider going to ATI and updating the graphics driver.
Also, 32 bit machine, will work, but you'd get more BANG with 64 bit.
Let us know how you get on.
Link to ATI is in my site LINKS page. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

Thanks a lot for the help Barry. As an update, I did update my graphics card. I can notice an improved image quality. The update also helped with rendering problems I had described above.

I was able to put down 27 mins of video. It looks as if Magic Movie was able to edit the video. First, I previewed the video and the system crashed. The second time I skipped the preview and went straight to produce and selected to burn a AVCHD video to a DVD-r. I was informed that all of the footage on the time line would be replaced and as soon as I selected OK, the system crashed.

So, I'm a little further than I was but still not to the point to purchase the software. Thanks,

Matt

Update to the update....

Tried to make a picture slide show. Made it all the way to burn the DVD and got this message - Error code: eC00C0005

Any ideas? Thanks,

Matt

Cripes, that all sucks.
I might ask you to change the title of your post to: Trial Version crashing a lot.
Maybe that will bring in the big guns, and you won't need to re-post all your info in a new thread.

Hi TheJams13,
Ok, the error code, please take a screenshot of it and attach it to your reply. I cant track it using Google - so the characters used don't tally.

Link:http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/reply/0/28003.page

I'd also like a screenshot of your project - the Edit Workspace User interface please. See guide, Part E & F

There are limitation within the trail to using HD footage or output. Your download mts is coming in slowly and I haven't examined it. In general the mts format is common and there shouldn't be a problem with it in PDR11.

Thank you for the diagnostic file. As mentioned, if you're going to edit HD files you'll need to consider a 64bit OS (Operating System). You'd also need to look at upping your Ram. For the moment neither of these two should be causing you to have an error message popup. I'd like the error message/image asap to see if there is indeed anything on the net about it.

A crash can be caused by a number of factors. Lack of power in the PC, a hardware failure (failing), internal connection data transfer speeds.

Right, I'll wait for the images and see what we members can do for you.

Hi,
This may be irrelevant in Windows device manager have you given 'Recording' permissions to the DVD drive? I have two drives DVD drives installed and some times windows change my recording settings to the opposite drive I want and I get an error.

Hi Dafydd,

Thanks for looking into these issues. I've attached a couple of files that I am hoping you are looking for. Like I said, I really want to buy this program, just trying to make sure it will work on my system.

Thanks again!

AMD has a new driver for the Radeon 4800 HD. Your driver is over a year old.

Second, the background music "Sports.mp3" has always caused problems for me. There's something about using MP3 in menus. Cyberlink had used mp3 in earlier versions of PowerDirector, but in 11 they have switched to WMA. You might want to experiment on your system and try WMA or WAV formats for menu music. Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.

Hi Matt -

Are you able to burn a standard DVD? Your attached images show you're attempting to burn an AVCHD DVD.

Alternatively - try burning the AVCHD DVD without a menu.

Cheers - Tony

I am having similar problems with the trial crashing repeatedly.

I have the latest version, the drivers for my Radeon card are all update.

As soon as we try to use Content aware, the program crashes with no error message.

would happily buy the program if it worked!

May have solved my issue but I don't know why.

I'm posting in case it might help others.

After several hours of checking etc, the one program not up to date on my system was Quicktime. I upgraded it and now the Content Aware works!

Digitalhome,
welcome to the forum.
Quicktime is very important to PD, updating is essential, glad you worked that out. Any future issues may need their own thread, that way we can track problems/solutions, and people can use SEARCH, though the SEARCH function can yield odd results sometimes.
