If you mean the preview image is sharper when you select the library item than when you select the timeline then this may be due to the preview resolution setting. If you select a timeline item then click the icon between the camera and speaker icons under the preview window you will see a drop-down menu with a choice of five preview resolution settings. Obviously the higher resolutions make greater demands on the harware and may degrade the smoothness of playback so depending on the performance of your hardware you will need to find a compromise between resolution and playback.
Edit to add that this won't have any effect on the eventual output which should have the sharpness you observe when you view the images in Windows.
