Quote: I keep thinking about upgrading from Version 9 to 11 and thought I might install the trial first. Are there any known issues running both on one system, am I likely to have any problems?

My only reason to upgrade to be honest is curiosity and I have a long history of jumping into things and finding myself wishing that I'd never started

You can install the PD 11 Trial without disturbing PD 9.

The PD 11 Trial is crippled in several areas. The worst cripple is in the High definition editing, I does not do well. The full retail does not have those limits.

Quote: Well I tried and failed to download the PD11 trial. Each time the download finishes the MD5 check fails and it wants to start again. Think I'll stick with what I've got rather than wasting any more bandwidth

p.s. 5 or 6 corrupt files in the package amongst which are GoogleChromeSetup.exe??

So do not allow the Google Chrome download.
It is not necessary.

The Powerdirector 11 Trial is about 500 Megabyte download.
The Cyberlink downloader is supposed to allow you to resume a download if interrupted.

If you are having MD5 errors, you may have ISP problems.

Tried the PD 11 Trial download, it asked to update the Downloader, which I did.

I started the updated downloader, then with no problems.
After the download finished, the MD5 checking ran, no problems found.

I canceled the install because I have a full retail copy of Powerdirector 11 Ultimate on this computer.

I do not want to overwrite my paid for PD11.

Point being, the MD5 Check passed.

I have a fast DSL connection, it only took a few minutes for the 429.92 MB download to complete.

If you are having problems with your download, I would contact the ISP. You may getting noise in your download connection.

Edit: corrected spelling.

Quote: I said I wasn't going to bother any further but I hate to be beaten

I created a new user on my machine and logged into that local account then went back to Cyberlink web site, created a new account name and downloaded the trial without any errors and it is now installed. I'll never know what it was that did the trick as I changed two things at the same time but anyway it's sorted.

Now I need to sort some clips out to have a play with.....

Good!

Something in the User profile maybe.
