Camcorderinfo, a website that evaluates camcorders, has shown that for a given camera, just switching to the 60P format will materially enhance resolution, reduce artifacts to near zero ( X900M) and provide far better motion video as compared to 60i.
As of July of 2011 the Blu-Ray standard includes AVCHD2 1080 50/60P and 3D. While virtually every editing software will now handle 3D and allow burning to disc, that lamentably is not the case for 1080 60P. Thankfully PD11 allows editing in 60P and will produce a 60P file. However burning to a BR blank requires several extra external steps.
It should be noted:
1) Most mid and higher level camcorders can output in 50/60P
2) Virtually all current BR players will reproduce 60P,(6 out of 6 in my neighborhood do.)
3) Sony, Samsung and others provide firmware upgrades that includes 60P compatibility (My 2 yr old Samsung was)
4) Most if not all TV sets available are capable of 60P
So, Cyberlink why not break the mold and be the first to provide 60P burning, as you provided 3D?
AND WHY DO I USE PD11?
It is the only reasonably priced software that SMART RENDERS, Maintaining the pristine video quality that ONLY 60P can deliver.
I hope somebody listens, so I do not have to wait a year until PD12,
or heaven forbid, an other software and learning curve.
