50P or 60P is the pinnacle of video quality and has been available for over two years.

Camcorderinfo, a website that evaluates camcorders, has shown that for a given camera, just switching to the 60P format will materially enhance resolution, reduce artifacts to near zero ( X900M) and provide far better motion video as compared to 60i.

As of July of 2011 the Blu-Ray standard includes AVCHD2 1080 50/60P and 3D. While virtually every editing software will now handle 3D and allow burning to disc, that lamentably is not the case for 1080 60P. Thankfully PD11 allows editing in 60P and will produce a 60P file. However burning to a BR blank requires several extra external steps.

It should be noted:

1) Most mid and higher level camcorders can output in 50/60P

2) Virtually all current BR players will reproduce 60P,(6 out of 6 in my neighborhood do.)

3) Sony, Samsung and others provide firmware upgrades that includes 60P compatibility (My 2 yr old Samsung was)

4) Most if not all TV sets available are capable of 60P

So, Cyberlink why not break the mold and be the first to provide 60P burning, as you provided 3D?

AND WHY DO I USE PD11?

It is the only reasonably priced software that SMART RENDERS, Maintaining the pristine video quality that ONLY 60P can deliver.

I hope somebody listens, so I do not have to wait a year until PD12,
or heaven forbid, an other software and learning curve.

Jmone,

I want to tell you how much I appreciate you writing the FixPD9 application, without it, it would NOT be possible to burn a 60P BR disc using PD11 edited 1080 60P video.

Did you write an other application for this, I vaguely remember something under your name?

And in the address that you gave, 50/60P AND 3D does not list BR discs as a recording medium, USB drive etc only. That has been given as the usual reason for not providing AVCHD2 60P.

YET MOST EDITING SOFTWARE PROVIDES 3D BR BURNING and THAT IS NOT A STANDARD EITHER!!

Thanks

Eugene

The Media Spec is for Camcorders (eg have a look at the V1 spec, it does not even list full size DVD or BD media).

Nope only test pattern files for HTPC playback testing. FYI ReMuxPD.zip is the latest version with some tweaks and is in this thread http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/26582 PD 64 Bit-Win10 64 Bit-32GB RAM-80TB HDD

Hello jmone,

As to the "NOPE" jmone, you are of course correct that the video, as viewed by the eye is the final test. I should not have said "only" in that post.

However there is no way, in my opinion, by looking at a picture, that one can discern if for example: the grey scale is properly adjusted, if there is overshoot or the opposite, that the resolution is what is claimed, or proper color balance, noise level etc.

As a joke, I use a window signal to look at the dynamic range of the display and marvel at the audacity of the display manufactures to claim ratios of 1 000 000 to 1! It is my understanding that the very best LCD sets have about 5000 to 1 and the human eye short time ratio is about the same.

My set has dynamic back lighting, app. 1000 led's. That helps but introduces other problems, hard to decide which is best, on or off.

Test patterns take the performance and settings of the camera (that took the video) out of the equation.(I went into the above detail since some others may not have your background)

I tried your ReMuxPD yesterday with a 20 min video and it works great, no sync or other issues. It is nice that the TsMuxer feature to insert chapters is maintained, have to try if the 5 min chapter interval can be changed.

As mentioned in this thread, the PD11 SVRT feature is very important to me, while a video w/o SVRT looks very good rendered (depending on the format) a test pattern will show artifacts that are not there when SVRT is used.

Rendering time is not an issue with me unless it is substantially over 3-4 times the video length. And since I almost never change the format (1080 60P) and use few transitions and titles, rendering time is not a factor.

Again, thanks for providing these applications. Hope I do not get nailed for getting off the subject.

BTW my brother lives in Melbourne, very nice place.

If you want to change the timing of the chapter markes then all you need to do is:

1) Open the "meta" file in notepad:
- AVCHD Settings are in "...ReMuxPD/tsMuxeR/avchd.meta" and
- FILE Settings are in "...ReMuxPD/tsMuxeR/file.meta "
2) change the value after "--auto-chapters=5" to a prefered value
3) save the "meta" file

All good to go. PD 64 Bit-Win10 64 Bit-32GB RAM-80TB HDD
