Those of you who purchased the NewBlue FXEssentials package (1,2 and 3) are you happy with it.

Thanks.

Hi John Alfa -

Only speaking for myself, I can't complain. To be honest, I rarely apply effects in the videos I make but - when I have - I've found the NewBlueFX to work well, with good keyframe control.

A few of the effects are more like video enhancement tools. Using ColorDirector makes those a bit superfluous for me, but I have used lots of the other effects in videos I do for my grandchildren.

Here's a little sampler showing what the effects do http://youtu.be/TakEt4gW6VY It cover the 3 Essentials packs, Art, Paint & Motion.

Cheers - Tony

Hi John,

I didn't even realize I'd bought those when I upgraded from PowerDirector 10 to PowerDirector 11. I'd thus conclude they're worth the price since I didn't even notice paying much.

I've used some of the NewBlue effects before and I liked them. Also perhaps because they allow relatively high level of modifications and your video isn't then just like someone else's. I find them the best effects of all those available within PowerDirector...

Hi JohnAlpha,

I also have the extra Essentials Package available at NewBlue.
http://newbluefx.com/cyberlink/
I do use them, but not all that often.

You asked if they were good. Yes, in my opinion they are.
Whether or not they are worth purchasing is really dependent on the type of editing you typically do. And the full Essentials Package is not cheap, though is currently on sale.
I believe there’s also a 30 trial available under the Products tab, so it might be best to run a trial to determine if they are something you’d want to purchase.
