remove empty tracks

I am running 4 video tracks. When I split one and delete section I have a blank space. If I right click in blank space and select remove empty tracks it does nothing.

If I grab video part and drag to close gap when I replay the old "deleted" clip plays.

How do I close the gap so video plays properly?

I do have checked "link all tracks when inserting/removing removing content in timeline" if that makes any difference.

Hi,
Place your cursor/mouse on the blank space and right click, you should have 3-4 options available choose the one suited to you needs.

That was the first thing I tried. Clicked on Remove and Close Gap, but all it did was delete the blank track above. Had 4 video tracks set.

you may have to do it in all tracks, as the other tracks are overlays on track one, so are independant.

The answer is you have to lock the other tracks, then you are allowed to delete gap and close.
