Is it better to separate each chapter as PDS file (i.e. Wedding Ch 01.pds, Wedding Ch 02.pds, etc.) or should I keep one large PDS file and have multiple chapters within the PDS file? My thought is that separating the chapters may reduce the file size for each chapter, and headaches of potential corrupt file as a result of one large PDS file. Any thoughts/feedback is very much appreciated!

from my thoughts if its going to be a major piece of work - longer then 15 minutes - I tend to separate out each major chapter

eg a trip to San fran , then Alaska would be two projects, each project may have its own chapters in it, say napa valley, Alcatraz etc. in the san fran project
I then bring them all together at the end as a master project..

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely consider your rule of thumb of 15 minutes.

Hi,
I done a wedding video last PD10 before upgrading to ultimate. Anyway I had my wife take snapshots, a friend done some video and I done some videos. I had relatives send me some of the photos they took also. When I got everything sorted on my hard drive I proceeded to compile the project. What I discovered ( it may have been my ignorance of the program) that chapters in the timeline don't come out as chapters when you 'Create Disc'.
So I took each 'Wedding video' (from the two people videoing) and produced them. Then I compiled the Snapshots into separate Produced files. Then I started fresh and went straight to 'Create Disc' and added the previously produced videos, slideshows etc, using the 'add content' module. This will create a "Chapter" in the 'Chapter/Titles' portion of the Create disc module referencing the added content.
I hope you understand the concept.
Jim
p.s. MY thinking was that if the DVD was for brides relatives and Bride and Groom each could pick the chapter that interested them or the slideshows.
p.s.s also you can preview each "project" and correct or adjust accordingly without a lengthy rendering time.
