Good (but long) read. I can confirm your results in another manner: using AMD's system monitor app one can see the entire PC load factor when PD11 (or any app) is running with heavy number crunching AVCHD files. Nearly all the cores (I have eight) are at 80-95% most of the time which indicates little time is being expended on peripheral input/output while rendering AVC files.
