I recently purchased an Asus G75 DS73 computer. Has a blu ray drive and full 3D ready monitor. Running Windows 8. I am not a techie.
I purchased PowerDVD 12 for the sole purpose of being able to pop in a blu ray and blu ray 3D, sit back and enjoy a movie. No external screens, nothing fancy.
I purchased PowerDVD 12 everything went great with the install, easy. Put in Star Wars Episode iv to try it out and nada. I went through my entire Blu Ray library to no avail. I was regretting my purchase. I have tried running it through Windows Media Center and nothing. It thinks and does nothing. Media Centre recognizes the BD and even shows the cover art. But just won't play.
I emailed customer support and received a reply 4 days later. The response was an extremely lengthy list of questions for me. I was shocked. I have responded back as best as possible, but I am not hopeful. Most of the instructions for extracting data related to windows 7 despite indicating I was running Windows 8.
So my question to the forum... I am sure I am doing something wrong... any ideas what that might be? Clearly its not as simple as putting in the BD and hitting play. So whats the trick here?
Please don't ask for the customer support 20 questions with diagnostic logs and other mumbo jumbo. Its all Greek to me. Perhaps this program is designed for the advanced PC user and not the average Joe.
Thanks!!!
