SmartSound Quicktracks 5 won't load

Just finished second reinstall of PD11 Ultimate. Running on Win7, 32 bit.

Can't get SS quicktracks 5 to open. "The feature you're trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." Next, "Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'SS Quicktracks 5 msi' in the box below."

When I track down the user source-- C\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\Temp\RarSFXD\SmartSound\ I get to the Temp folder but don't find anything inside that approximates RarSFXD\SmartSound.

So now what? Where's the feature I'm trying to find? As it is, I don't have any SmartSound function.

I have reinitialized SmartSound, but that doesn't bring in the data.

Had no such problem in PD10.

Hi Paul -

I can't remember ever seeing that alert before, so I'm unsure what prompts it.

1. Could you please check C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartSound Software to see what's been installed
... then look at C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc (where the music files & libraries are stored)
- screenshots of mine attached

2. Are you able to open the Magic Music module? If so, click on SmartSound & Rebuild SmartSound Database - or is that what you mean by "I have reinitialized SmartSound"?
- screenshot attached

Cheers - Tony

In addition to Tony's information.

Do you have your smartsound files?

They are located here:
C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc

The sound database of sound files is in this folder.

C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc\Sound Files.

Thanks for the replies.

I went to C:\ProgramData\SmartSound Software Inc\Sound Files. and found the file to be empty. Then, in my other computer, I copied the Sound Files and pasted them into SmartSound Software Inc\Sound Files. After I opened PD11 I eventually was able to access those files in Magic Music (Powered by SmartSound). But. A lot happened before I got to that. See attachments.

So what I'm wondering is how do I find the missing "start-up" file? Or should I do a "clean-up," re-download the files from Cyberlink, and then re-install?

Hi Paul -

That installation has really given you the runaround & I have no idea why.

In your situation, I'd uninstall Quicktracks & re-install. You can download a fresh copy of QuickTracks 5.1.8.0 (current version) from http://www.smartsound.com/support/updates.html?product=cyberlink - I'd select the full installer containing the common data.

Screenshot attached showing file components.

Finally got PD11 running fully and correctly. I deleted the original down-load files, down-loaded them again and then re-installed them. Voilla! SmartSound Quicktracks initialized and is working!

Thanks for the thoughts and help!

Paul
