Upgrading hardware bundled versions

Hi,
I have PowerDVD 10 that is part of CyberLink Media Suite 8.0 bundled with my ASUS Blu-Ray drive. Unfortunatelly hardware bundled versions cannot be updated with latest updates on CyberLink web pages. Because ASUS isn't responding to requests for update (ASUS support just responed me with message "Close!" without any other explanation and new update isn't still available) I have decided to switch to Power DVD 12.
In Upgrade Information window there is an offer to upgrade to PowerDVD 12 Ultra for a special price.
My question is: If I use this upgrade, will I get the non-bundled version of Power DVD same as I would get buying from CyberLink web pages or it will be the the hardware bundled Power DVD 12 that can't be update in nomal manner.

Thank you in advance for your answer.

Hi,
Please let me highlight that Upgrades and Full Version have the same feature set.

To install the Upgrade you must have installed the qualifying software (PDVD 10 in your case) - or it will refuse to install.

if you plan to switch to aother platform recently I suggesto to go with the full version instead.

I am not sure if I understand it right.
Could you please confirm me if the following equation is correct:
(PDVD 10 upgraded to PDVD 12 Ultra) isn't equal to (hardware bundled PDVD 10 upgraded to PDVD 12 Ultra)

I know that
(PDVD 10) isn't equal to (hardware bundled PDVD 10)
because hardware bundled version cannot be updated with patches available here:

Hi Peter, any luck here yet? You might want to try a clean install on PDVD 12 and see if it makes a difference.

Hi,
Upgrade version has the same feature set - but to install you need to have installed the version that qualifies you for the upgrade.

1) I suggest that if PDVD itself offers me an upgrade to PDVD12 Ultra (through the Upgrade Information Window) it should work (or else it would be a fraud).
2) Still didn't get the answer I was asking for.

However at the end I was so sick of bundled PDVD so I moved to PDVD bought from cyberlink web pages and this weekend I was finally able to play Prometheus 3D.

PowerDVD is really great product but at this moment bundled versions aren't usable because hardware manufactures F's their users and they don't supply them with necessary updates for bundled software (at least ASUS really F'ed with me). And at these days a movie player without updates is useless because film industry companies are fighting their LEGAL users with super new versions of copy protections (which will always be broken by pirates anyway).

So my final conclusion is that I DO NOT RECOMMEND HARDWARE BUNDLED VERSIONS OF POWER DVD AS FAR AS UPDATES ARE SUPPORTED BY HARDWARE MANUFACTURERS ONLY.

But in general I DO RECOMMEND Cyberlink's standalone version of PowerDVD because it's really great and Cyberlink's support is outstanding.
