I was able to import these AVI Files into PD9, but as soon as I upgraded to PD11, I received an error message stating "An error occurred while opening this media file in the media library. It may be because the file is broken, an unsupported format, protected video content, or for another reason."

Hi Mesden01 ,
A little bit more information please.
1. PDR9: Was that the deluxe 32bit version?
2. PDR11: You have the 64bit version, which?
3. Media File information of your avi file. Please use Media Info, save the full property data as a text file and attach to your reply.
3-1. MediaInfo: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
4. Select Post Reply : http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/reply/0/24949.page

The error you've received is indicative of a codec issue. AVI files using a 32bit codec have in the past run into problems in the 64bit editor as the codec isn't recognized. Please provide the information requested so members may provide you with a possible solution.

Dafydd

Is there a means to finding out which version I have within the program itself?

Nevermind I found it.

V9 was the Ultra 64-bit

V11 is the 32-bit version. It doesn't say Ultra or Deluxe or anything.

In Powerdirector any version Click on the Words "PowerDirector" in the upper Right Corner of the PowerDirector program.

You get the following window:

Looks like V9 is 9.0.0.2330. Haven't upgraded in a while.

Hello.
I have the same problem importing the AVI to PD11 Ultra. My version is PowerDirector Ultra 11.0.02812 64bit.

The AVI was recorded using Camtasia screen record. Thanks!
