Audio of Captured Video Not Heard on Track 2

I captured video with my web-cam to put on Video/Audio Track 2. But when I try to play, I can only hear the music from the movie track. Plus, the video on the second track over-rides the Slide-show on Video track 1. So I have the video from Track 2 with no audio but over-riding the video on Track 1. I tried making adjustments in the audio mixing room without progress.

I did notice a column of white dots in the space between the left column and the Timeline. What does that indicate? Bubba

Video in track 2 will display over video in track 1 unless you disable the video in track 2. There is a little icon on the left side of the track. Click that to disable.

On the audio, do you see a wave form displayed for the audio track? Does it play in any other track? __________________________________

No, I do not see a wave form , and, the audio does not play at all. I tried to have the video/audio play separately, from within the media viewer, but still no audio. I'm wondering if the webcam capture picked up the audio in the first palce, even though I don't know why it wouldn't.

Here, shortly, I think I'll try to "capture" some web-cam video again to test it. Bubba

Finally got around to testing my video capture from within PowerDirector 10 and found that it captured the video but not the audio. No wonder my audio track could not be heard.

Is that because I am trying out a trial version?

I'll try to import a video that I know has audio to see how that goes. When I've tried that before, however, I ran into compatibility issues. Bubba

Should not have anything to do with the trial version. Is this a web cam? Does it have a built in microphone, or use the computer mic? Sounds like PD is recognizing the camera, but not the mic. __________________________________

Good Point! I am using a web-cam. I can check to see if cam has built-in mike -- I doubt it. If the web-cam doesn't, can I get PowerDirector to capture both, together? Bubba

Reviewing my questions/issues and saw this one still open: I resolved my original sound issue by (a) recognizing that the web-cam wasn't picking up audio because (b) the "setting" in the capture mode wasn't set to me web-cam audio. Once I made that adjustment, the missing audio issue was solved.

Sorry, I didn't post to this question, but to the other one, even though this was my initial inquiry.

Thanks!
