Just for info (and following the 4k video thread ), the link is to a quick few shots taken with a Sony Experia P smartphone in full HD mode. No Edits, just trimming and produced to Best quality.mp4 in PD 10 and uploaded to Youtube.

http://youtu.be/6IqvpjMe53s?hd=1

The camera clips are 1080p 19mbs 29.97fps .mov with 48Khz 128 bitrate AAC audio (but as I was holding my breath there is no audible sound)

Quality is pretty good I think, no comment about the content or creativity. Who's going to be first to have a 4k smartphone?

Cheers
Adrian

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated. (see below)

Wow! Stunning quality. If you told someone 10 years ago that there are phone cameras that can almost equal the resolution quality of the pro stuff 'they' would of locked you up!

I get similar quality on my iPhone 4S. I also use FilmicPro (an app) so you can shoot at 25 fps and not the pesky Apple 30 fps plus a wide angle conversion lens - all for a bl**dy phone!

Thanks for sharing

Talking about Sony, they already have a 4k TV

Adrian -

Superb quality... and all packed into a small device. 'Mazing.

James - those Sony TVs are said to be selling in Europe for about €25 000 ($US 31 000)

Hmm - wonder what happened to that 4K thread?

Cheers - Tony

Hi,
Gotta get me one of those....wonder what orientation you have to shoot video in with the phone or if it matters? Does the phone have to be held landscape wise or like a normal phone.

Agreed, things are moving so quickly in the digital imaging field. In good light mobile phones are getting so close to matching low end DSLR's. If you look at some of the Nokia 808's 43mp photos they are stunning.

Still not quiet there for low light but I can see the time coming where they will overcome this area as well. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn
